Wake: Up to Poetry
Every Month is Poetry Month
Just in time for National Poetry Month we have started working on The Essential Brendan Kennelly-Selected Poems edited by Terence Brown and WFU Poet Michael Longley. This is our third book in the works, along with Michael Longley’s A Hundred Doors and our new Women’s Anthology.
We love having books to proof at the Press, but that’s not all we do. Regardless of whether or not we have books to publish, we always have a website, Facebook, blog, Twitter, and newsletter to maintain and update. Orders come in and go out everyday. Requests for permissions and poems wanting to be be published need to be dealt with. An up-coming tour means weekly communication between the Press, the poets, and the venues. Books need to be restocked or reprinted. And whenever there’s a rare lack of labor, there’s always research to be done.
At the Press, we don’t just read poetry. We read articles about EBooks, technology, and the future. We read poetry blogs and poetry reviews. We read about our poets and we read about our market. There is always new information to be read and learned. Work doesn’t always revolve around books, but this month we are happy to be celebrating National Poetry Month with our three friends.
