Wake: Up to Poetry

"The act of poetry is a rebel act."

Welcome Back to WFU Press!

It’s fall at the Forest, which means a new group of students has taken residence in the press’ cozy intern corner. This year’s class includes a mix of familiar faces: Alyssa Walter, Drew Theis and Taylor Ryan, and newcomers: Amanda Rousseau, Maura Connolly and Caroline Hallemann.
As always, our office in the bomb-shelter basement of Tribble Hall is bustling with activity. Check out what projects the interns are working on right now:
Taylor: Filling and shipping orders
Maura: Conducting a research project on poetry ebooks
Amanda: Helping with the newsletter and updating the Wake Press Facebook page–click here to check it out!
Drew: Revamping our authors’ websites- be sure to check back later to see the final products!
Me (Caroline): Hannah Kay left me some big shoes to fill, but I’m taking her place working on the blog this semester while she’s abroad and helping with the newsletter.
Alyssa: Editing the WFU Press newsletter- If you’d like to receive our quarterly mailing, click over to the WFU Press website. Scroll down to sign up for our email list!
Everyone: Proofreading poetry for our new anthology and helping the office run smoothly
We’ll be updating this blog at least once a week, so be sure to visit frequently :)
